Prof. Dr. Ali N. Akansu received the B.S. degree from the Technical University of Istanbul, Turkey, 1980, the M.S. and Ph.D degrees from the Polytechnic University, Brooklyn, New York, in 1983 and 1987, respectively, all in Electrical Engineering. Since 1987, he has been with the New Jersey Institute of Technology, where he is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He was a Founding Director of the New Jersey Center for Multimedia Research (NJCMR) between 1996-2000, and NSF Industry-University Cooperative Research Center (IUCRC) for Digital Video between 1998-2000. Prof. Akansu spearheaded the National Security Agency (NSA) Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education at NJIT in 2003 and led it until October 2005. Prof. Akansu was the Vice President for Research and Development of IDT Corporation. He was also the founding President and CEO of PixWave, Inc. (an IDT subsidiary). He has sat on the boards of directors of a few companies and an investment fund. His current research interests include signal and transform theories, and applications. Prof. Akansu has published numerous papers and several books widely referenced in the literature. He is a Fellow of the IEEE and an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Multimedia.

Dr. Cengiz Akgün graduated in 1978 with BS degree from the Electronics and Telecommunications division of ITU Electrical Engineering Faculty.  After receiving his MS and PhD from Polytechnic University in Electrical Engineering 1980 and 1983 respectively, he joined the Electrical Engineering Department of Manhattan College for a year as an Assistant Professor.  Summer of 1984, he became a Member of Technical Staff in AT&T Bell Labs and moved to Bellcore (currently known as Telcordia) in 1987.  Since 2005, Cengiz is with SAIC as a Principal Systems Engineer at Red Bank, New Jersey.

Tansel Alan is a Senior Business Analyst at OpenLink Financial Inc, a software company providing technology solutions to a diverse client base including energy and financial services firms. He has been working in Energy Trading and Risk Management fields specializing in Crude Oil and Refined Products Logistics. Mr. Alan received a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Istanbul Technical University in 2005. He also holds an MBA in Finance from Hofstra University as a recipient of CV Starr Endowed Scholarship. During his studies at Hofstra University, he worked as a Research Assistant at Martin B. Greenberg Trading Room and interned at New York Mercantile Exchange where he managed a cross commodity portfolio. In the Fourth NYMEX Open Outcry Futures Trading Competition held in 2007, Mr. Alan ranked 3rd individually, and led the Hofstra Team to 2nd place in the Fifth NYMEX Electronic Commodity Trading Challenge. He is the Founder and first President of Hofstra Quants and Traders and a member of Beta Gamma Sigma Honors Society. Mr. Alan is certified as an Energy Risk Professional (ERP) by Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) and also Bloomberg Certified in Fixed Income and Equities.

Oguz Alpöge is a senior computer architect/programmer and educator who has been active in the Turkish and US industry for 50 years. He received his M.S. degree in Electronics Engineering from Istanbul Technical University in 1973, and his MBA with the major in International Business Management from New York University in 1979. Currently, he is the Computer Systems Manager at City of New York, Financial Information Systems Agency. He served as a systems integrator and consultant with current concentration in web technologies like Microsoft ASP.NET, C#, web services, Nintex Workflow, e-business and multimedia. He has earned several certifications in computers, such as Java, .NET Web Development, Unicenter. He has spoken at various conferences and seminars including at CeBIT Bilisim Eurasia trade fairs in Istanbul. He authored books and articles on technology and film including the book "Radio, Television, Radar - Foundations and Applications" published in Istanbul. He was one of the pioneers of Turkish TV programming at the Istanbul Technical University TV. He is also with Next Information Systems Inc., NY (nextinfosys.com). Previously, he had served at many financial and manufacturing corporations in Turkey and USA. In addition to other institutes, he taught at Hofstra University, NY. He is a member of several scientific and business organizations: NY Academy of Sciences, Turkish American Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Turkish Informatics Foundation (TBV - Turkiye Bilisim Vakfi), Hauppauge Industrial Association, MIM (Society of Turkish American Architects, Engineers and Scientists).

Feray Girgin graduated from ITU in 1967, with a  B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering. Following her graduation, she started to work as a Quality Control  Engineer at  (MKEK)  Mechanical and Chemical Industries Corporation. Kirikkale, Turkey. She completed two years Industrial training (1968-70) on Petrochemicals and Plastics in England (with a scholarship from the Confederation of British Industry). In 1971  she received her M.S. degree  from University of Salford, at Manchester  in Chemistry and Applied Chemistry.  After that she lived 25 years in Argentina and worked with Vialco Argentina SAIC  at Futaleufu, Chubut  Hydroelectric Complex,  Instituto Petroquimica Argentina  and Monsanto-Argentina SAIC, Buenos Aires.  After working 11 yrs at  the Turkish  Embassy in Buenos Aires, she retired from Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey. She was the founder of Argentine-Turkish Chamber of Commerce, Industry &Tourism, in Bs.As. and wrote a  book to teach Turkish for Spanish speaking people. She moved to USA in 1996 and became a “Lic. Real Estate Broker” in New York and Florida. She is currently Sales & Marketing Manager of  New City Builders Inc. She is fluent in Turkish, Spanish and English.  Mrs. Girgin was the president of ITUMD USA during 2007-2008 and 2013-2014.

Prof. Dr. Ahmet Pamuk received the B.S. degree from the Technical University of Istanbul, Turkey; the M.S. Degree from the University of Delaware; and the Ph.D. degree from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, all in Civil Engineering. He worked as a Post-Doctoral Research Scientist at the Columbia University. He has been with the College of Engineering at Florida State University Panama City. Prof. The research interests of Prof. Pamuk include earthquake engineering, soil-structure interaction, earth structures and landfills, centrifuge modeling, and forensic engineering.

Dr. Veli Sahin is a Senior Director at NEC Corporation of America in Irving, TX. Dr. Sahin has been working in the area of communications networks for over 25 years. He spent several years in different areas of communications systems such as transmission, switching, packet switching, wireless communications, management systems, and strategic planning working on as a planner, strategist, and developer. His current interest includes Next Generation Networks (NGN), IP Multi Media Systems (IMS), Quad/Triple Play Services, IPTV, VoIP, IP/MPLS, end-to-end integrated planning, Wireless Multi Service Products/Platforms/Networks, and development of TMN based management systems, integrated management of multiple technologies/products, and planning and development of National/Global information Infrastructures. Dr. Sahin received his Ph.D. in multi hop packet radio networks from Polytechnic University, and worked at Bell Labs, Bellcore, NEC America, Samsung, and Marconi. He has over 100 internal and external publications and co-author of a book titled as "Network Management into the 21st Century." He has been active in organizing conferences, symposia, and workshops, and giving tutorials/seminars/talks at conferences and symposia as an invited speaker on network management, TMN, and integration of SONET, SDH, ATM, and IP networks/products. He was a member of Journal on Network and Systems Management (JNSM) Advisory Board and international Journal on Communications Network (JCN) Editorial Board. He was the General Chair for the 2002 and 1998 Network Operations and Management Symposium (NOMS), Co-founder and first chair of the IEEE ComSoc Technical Committee on Information Infrastructure (TCII) for (1995-1998), Chair for the IEEE ComSoc Technical Committee on Network Operations and Management (CNOM) (1998–2000).

Ayhan Topcu ITU Mimarlik Fakultesi’nden 1980 yilinda mezun oldu. 1981-1985 yillari arsinda Libya’da 1986-1990 yillari arasinda Ankara’da 1996-1990 yillari arasinda Libya’da 1997-2000 yillari arasinda Ankara’da gorev yapti. 2001 yilindan beri New York’ta bir muteahhitlik firmasinda Ihale Hazirlik-Proje Muduru pozisyonlarinda gorev yapmaktadir.

Dr. Mehmet Toy received B.S and M.S in Electronics and Communications from Istanbul Technical University, Istanbul, Turkey and Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, NJ. He also holds “Docent” title since 1992. Dr. Toy is currently with ADVA Optical Networking, Inc. and one of the well-known contributors of Metro Ethernet technology.  Prior to his current position, Dr. Toy held various positions in Intel, Verizon Wireless, Axiowave Networks, Fujitsu Network Communications, AT&T Bell Labs and Lucent Technologies, where he contributed various areas of computer networking, and founded Intergenix, Inc. Dr. Toy served as an Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, as a “Yrd. Docent” of Electrical Engineering at “Dokuz Eylul Universitesi”, and taught at various universities including the Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts and at the New Jersey Institute of Technology in New Jersey. Dr. Toy has publications in data networking and signal processing areas.  Video tutorial “ATM Switching System Management via Open Interfaces” and  books  “Optical Networking I”, “Optical Networking II”,  and “ATM Development and Applications” are among them. He served as an editor and committee chair in IEEE Communications Society. He is married and has three children.

Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ulema received MS & Ph.D. in Computer Science at Polytechnic University, New York. He also received BS & MS degrees at Technical University of Istanbul, Turkey. Currently he is a professor at Manhattan College, New York. Previously, he held management and technical positions in Daewoo Telecom, Bellcore, AT&T Bell Labs, and Hazeltine.  Dr. Ulema has been involved in a variety of wireless projects including 3G wireless networks, wireless LANs, Wireless Local Loops, and management of wireless networks. He has published in various international conferences and journals. He holds two patents. He gave numerous talks and tutorials on network management of wireless networks. He is involved in many IEEE conferences. He served as a General co-chair the IEEE Network Operations and Management Symposium (NOMS) 2008. More recently, he served as the Program chair for a number of conferences including Globecom 2009 and ICC 2006 held in Istanbul. Currently he is on the editorial board of IEEE Transactions on Network and Services Management, the Wireless Network Journal, and the Journal of System and Network Management.

Dr. Zafer Yakin received M.S. and Ph.D. in Industrial and Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He also received a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Istanbul Technical University in Istanbul, Turkey. Currently, he is the President of Opaxis Energy Management Services Company located in Reston, Virginia near Washington, DC. Previously, he taught operations research, operations management and statistics at the University of Houston College of Business Administration. He held engineering, management and executive positions at AT&T Bell Labs, Lucent Technologies and overseas operations of AT&T. Zafer ran his independent consulting businesses both in Turkey and in the US working with both local and multinational companies in telecommunications, IT and energy management.
